PSG crowned Ligue 1 champions after win over Lens | OneFootball

Paris Saint-Germain Saint-Germain were crowned Ligue 1 champions once again after a hard-fought 2-0 victory away to RC Lens secured the title with one match still to play.

The hosts started aggressively and caused plenty of problems early on, with Wesley Saïd and Odsonne Édouard both going close. PSG goalkeeper Matvey Safonov was forced into several sharp saves, while Illia Zabarnyi made a crucial clearance off the line to keep the game scoreless.

Despite Lens’ bright opening, the visitors struck first through Khvicha Kvaratskhelia. The Georgian winger was played through by Ousmane Dembele after a loose pass in midfield and finished confidently past Robin Risser.

Lens continued to battle after the break, but PSG controlled the game far better in the second half and rarely looked troubled. With the hosts committing bodies forward late on, substitute Ibrahim Mbaye sealed the win in stoppage time with a composed finish.

The result hands PSG a fifth straight Ligue 1 crown - the first time the club has achieved that feat - and a 14th league title overall.
