Another Ligue 1 title is around the corner for Paris Saint-Germain, who matched a lengthy European record on Saturday.

A 6-1 victory over AS Saint-Étienne at the Stade Geoffroy-Guichard for Les Parisiens extended their unbeaten run away from home in the French top-flight to 38 matches. That equaled the record set by AC Milan in Serie A, as they did not suffer a defeat in that competition between 1991 and 1993.

Like AC Milan in the ’90s, PSG have also won 30 of their last 38 away contests domestically, along with eight draws. After 27 matchdays in Ligue 1, Luis Enrique’s men hold a 21-point cushion over AS Monaco for first in the table with seven matches remaining.

A single point for them next weekend at home to Angers SCO would officially clinch the title for them, which would be their fourth consecutive French league crown.

Tonight, they can make the final of the Coupe de France when they host one of the surprise stories USL Dunkerque. They are also still in the running to lift the UEFA Champions League trophy for the first time, facing Aston Villa in the quarter-finals later this month.

So far this year, PSG have won all 12 of their competitive fixtures played away from home, netting three or more goals on eight of those occasions.

Les Parisiens are unbeaten after 27 matchdays, the second-longest run in the history of Ligue behind only FC Nantes’ run of 32 games in the 1994-95 campaign.

PSG can surpass AC Milan for that all-time longest unbeaten away record in Europe when they travel to Stade de la Beaujoire on April 22 to battle Nantes.
