PSG lose legal battle to Buffon!

Gianluigi Buffon, the Paris Saint-Germain goalkeeper for the 2017-2018 season, after a long career with Juventus Turin and Italy, has had some issues with the law. PSG was involved and lost a battle with the Italian. In fact, L'Equipe reports this Thursday that the Paris Court of Appeal ruled in favor of the goalkeeper for part of a tax adjustment imposed on the player and that the Parisian club had to pay.

« The player relied on a clause that had been inserted into his employment contract: "In the event of a tax adjustment before December 31, 2023, of the Italian income tax on income paid in 2018 (...) PSG undertakes to bear 50% of this Italian tax, limited to a net amount of €250,000, excluding social security contributions and taxes. This coverage will constitute an additional impatriation premium." Condemned for the first time to pay this sum by the labor court, PSG had appealed. Without more success. The Italian legend, however, failed to obtain €25,000 in damages for "abusive resistance" from the French club. »

This is not very serious for PSG's finances and this story will be quickly forgotten (one suspects that hardly any Parisian supporter had it in mind yesterday), but it's still bad news. Even if it seems quite logical, given the clause mentioned. We also regret a perhaps slightly strained relationship between Buffon and Paris, even if it hasn't been particularly visible in the goalkeeper's statements, now retired, since his departure.
