Real Madrid’s presidential race is already beginning to influence discussions around the club’s transfer plans, and a new name is now generating significant attention.
According to SER, Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Vitinha has emerged as a potential marquee signing that could strengthen Florentino Perez’s position ahead of the upcoming presidential election.
The Portuguese international is viewed as a player capable of making a major statement, particularly as rival candidate Enrique Riquelme attempts to build support with ambitious promises of his own.
With transfer speculation becoming increasingly linked to the election campaign, the battle between the two projects appears to have already started.
Recent weeks have seen both sides attempt to excite supporters with promises regarding future signings.

Florentino Perez has already publicly associated his project with Liverpool defender Ibrahima Konate, while Riquelme’s camp has been working on the idea of bringing Erling Haaland to the Santiago Bernabeu, although it has been dismissed by people close to the Manchester City striker.
And now, Vitinha’s name has entered the conversation.
Discussing the possibility, Portuguese journalist Luis Cristovao told Antena 1, “It’s a possibility being discussed in Portugal.”
The report suggests that Vitinha could eventually be attracted by a move to a club such as Real Madrid, particularly if he believes it could help him further elevate his status among the world’s best midfielders.
However, while the transfer itself would be difficult enough, another factor could prove even more decisive.

The biggest obstacle mentioned in the report is not PSG’s willingness to sell but rather the influence of Jose Mourinho.
Vitinha has thrived under Luis Enrique in Paris, operating within a system that maximises his technical strengths and allows him to control matches from midfield.
Any future decision regarding his next club would likely involve careful consideration of the coach he would be working under.
Simply put, the Portuguese midfielder may not necessarily find the same tactical environment under Mourinho that he currently enjoys at PSG, which explains the reservation in completing the deal.
