Paris Saint-Germain are reportedly preparing a significant summer move for Arsenal target Julian Alvarez.

Gunners manager Mikel Arteta admires the Atletico Madrid forward and wants to bring him to the Emirates Stadium.

However, Alvarez has emerged as a primary target for PSG boss Luis Enrique, who views him as the ideal centrepiece for his fluid attacking system.

While Arteta has identified Alvarez as the marquee signing needed to elevate the Gunners’ frontline, PSG’s financial firepower gives them a clear advantage in any potential bidding war.

Arsenal’s interest is well-documented, but Atletico are maintaining a firm not-for-sale stance, with manager Diego Simeone labelling the forward ‘untouchable’.

However, with Antoine Griezmann expected to depart this summer, the Spanish giants may be forced to reconsider their position if a substantial bid is tabled.

Alvarez is one of Europe’s most productive attackers, having tallied 20 goals and 10 assists in 52 appearances across all competitions this season.

Meeting a valuation in excess of €100m is a manageable hurdle for PSG as they look to refresh their squad and signal intent for the new campaign.

For Arsenal, the challenge lies in presenting a persuasive offer that can outweigh the financial and lifestyle appeal in Paris.

La Liga giants Barcelona are also admirers of Alvarez, although their financial situation makes a move unlikely at this stage.
