Ousmane Dembele and Desire Doue, two players who starred in last season’s 5-0 thumping of Inter Milan in the final, have each been ruled out for weeks.

Dembele limped off in France's 2-0 World Cup qualification win against Ukraine on Friday, and will be sidelined for up to six weeks with a hamstring injury.

Meanwhile, Doue - who was replaced by his PSG team-mate at half-time - suffered a calf strain and is expected to be unavailable for selection for around a month.

A PSG statement reads: “The medical update on 6 September relates to Ousmane Dembele and Desire Doue.

“After leaving the pitch injured during the match between Ukraine - France on Friday, Ousmane Dembele has suffered a serious injury to his right hamstring. He is expected to be unavailable for around six weeks.

“Also picking up an injury during the encounter, Desire Doue suffered a strain in his right calf and will be out for around four weeks.”

The injuries come less than two weeks before PSG being their quest to retain their Champions League title when they host Serie A side Atalanta on Wednesday, September 17, 2025.

Given the timelines for Dembele and Doue, they will miss the first game of the league phase.

Furthermore, the former will certainly be sidelined for the mouthwatering clash away at former club Barcelona on Wednesday, October 1, 2025, but Doue faces a race against the clock to prove his fitness.

PSG have Ligue 1 clashes against Lens, Marseille, Auxerre and Lille before the next international break, leaving Luis Enrique needing to consider his options ahead of what is shaping up to be a challenging six weeks.
