Defender is in a race against the clock to be fit for the Champions League final

Paris Saint-Germain have confirmed that Achraf Hakimi has returned to training ahead of the Champions League final against Arsenal.

PSG will look to defend their crown in Budapest, Hungary, on May 30 after overcoming Bayern Munich 6-5 on aggregate in the semi-finals.

However, Hakimi had emerged as a doubt for the showpiece at the Puskas Arena after being forced off late on in the 5-4 first leg win at the Parc des Princes.

Despite being able to walk off the pitch unaided, the 27-year-old did not return and PSG had to see out the closing stages with ten-men after using up all their substitution windows.

Hakimi is set to sit out PSG’s clash against Lens on Wednesday - which could see the Parisians clinch the title - and the final game of the league campaign against local rivals Paris FC at the weekend.

That said, the Morocco international appears to be winning his race to be fit for the Champions League final amid a positive medical update.

A PSG statement reads: “Achraf Hakimi, Lucas Chevalier and Quentin Ndjantou are training individually outdoors.”

PSG have also confirmed that Kang-In Lee sustained an ankle problem during the 1-0 win over Brest, thus joining Willian Pacho, Nuno Mendes and Warren Zaire-Emery on the sidelines.

“Following an injury to his left ankle during the match against Brest, Kang-In Lee will be training indoors over the next few days,” the statement continues.

“Willian Pacho, Nuno Mendes and Warren Zaire-Emery are continuing their rehabilitation.”
