PSG’s push for a new stadium has hit a costly snag, with substantial infrastructure outlays flagged at Poissy and Massy, potentially strengthening the Parc des Princes option.

According to L'Équipe, the club attended new steering committees in early June in Poissy and Massy, days after being crowned European champions on 30 May for the second year running.

Improving public transport access in Poissy was described as a handicap by one participant, with required works put at several hundred million euros. The plan envisages reopening the Poissy-Quai-Talbot station, closed since 2004 on the Paris-Saint-Lazare to Le Havre line. The stop, near the Stellantis plant, would serve a stadium if built on the carmaker’s land.

Massy’s issues relate more to road traffic, even with the A6 and A10 linking the town to Paris and wider Île-de-France. The price of works there is estimated at roughly a third of Poissy’s, but still substantial. Significant investment would be required at either site to move supporters efficiently.

PSG has said it needs clarity on how these infrastructures would be financed to finalise its economic modelling and define any club contribution.

Those reservations could bolster the Paris option and the Parc des Princes, which has regained credibility following Emmanuel Grégoire’s election as mayor. A first steering committee on the Parc is expected by the end of the month, with 25 June floated. PSG aims to choose its preferred site in the autumn.
