Ivory Coast forward Yan Diomande has become one of the hottest prospects on the market, with half the clubs in Europe vying for his signature.
Liverpool are believed to be leading the race to sign the RB Leipzig star, but TyC Sports claims that Paris Saint-Germain could provide serious competition.
Diomande’s stock has gone through the roof over the past year, making him one of the most talked-about prospects across the continent.
His impressive performances have put interested clubs on red alert, although Leipzig are heavily reluctant to sanction a move, having just brought him in last summer.
They spent around €20 million to sign him from CD Leganes.
However, Diomande’s valuation has skyrocketed, surpassing that of any other player in Europe over the same timeframe.
While they’re aware of the growing interest, Leipzig haven’t named a price for their most valuable asset.
They’ve already turned down a stunning €100 million bid from Liverpool. While the Reds have refused to throw in the towel, they’re already exploring other alternatives.
Diomande’s performances have given Liverpool fans plenty to anticipate if their side can finalise a deal.
The 19-year-old helped Leipzig secure a third-place finish in the Bundesliga last season. He bagged 13 goals and 10 assists in 36 games across all competitions.
He also created 17 big chances in the Bundesliga last term, averaging 1.7 key passes per 90 minutes.
Diomande has kept his foot on the gas at the World Cup. He arrived as one of the tournament’s must-watch teenagers and has delivered even though he’s yet to open his goalscoring account.
While he’s focused on helping his nation qualify for the knockout stage, negotiations about his future are taking place behind the scenes.
Diomande is viewed as a long-term replacement for Mohamed Salah, but PSG are looking to scupper that deal.
The French champions are open to parting ways with Bradley Barcola this summer and are ready to launch a move for Diomande as his replacement.
