PSG have been named as one of the many teams interested in signing Mateus Fernandes from recently relegated West Ham this summer.

PSG have a superb team, have just won the Champions League back to back, and aren’t looking to rock the boat too much.

But they’re always looking to improve if the chance comes along, and there’s a relegated player from the Premier League that they and a number of top teams including Manchester United are looking at: Mateus Fernandes of West Ham. The asking price for the midfielder has been set at £80m, according to transfer insider Ben Jacobs.

PSG lurking rather than openly chasing Fernandes

Given PSG’s strength in central midfield, we’re not sure how convinced we yet are that the Portugal international will be joining them this summer.

It’s not that they don’t want him, or couldn’t find a place for him. It’s just that the other teams in the chase are so much more in need, and likely willing to bid so much more. This is one to monitor through the summer – but right now we see PSG lurking in the background waiting to see what happens rather than front and centre.

In other news…

PSG are looking to sell playing including Randal Kolo Muani this summer, but are in no hurry to get rid of the striker.

Joshua Kimmich almost joined PSG a couple of years ago, and has spoken about the insane offers that the club made to try and persuade him to join.
