PSG travel to Lisbon to take on Sporting Clube de Portugal in the UEFA Champions League on Tuesday night.
The Parisians arrive following a convincing 3-0 triumph over Lille in Ligue 1, where they occupy second place with 42 points after 18 games.
However, they have managed just one victory in their past three Champions League outings, including a 0-0 stalemate with Athletic Club. Luis Enrique’s squad currently holds third in the league phase standings with 13 points from six fixtures.
Several important PSG players will be absent for the Portuguese away game. João Neves is still sidelined by a hamstring problem and won’t make the trip, nor will midfielder Quentin Ndjantou. Achraf Hakimi and Ibrahim Mbaye, fresh from the Africa Cup of Nations final, sit this one out due to the tight schedule. Lucas Hernandez is suspended, Matvey Safonov is nursing an injury, and Kang-In Lee remains out with an ankle issue.
On a brighter note, Ballon d’Or recipient Ousmane Dembélé—who bagged a crucial double in the sharp 3-0 defeat of Lille on January 16, 2026—should play a starting role. Luis Enrique commented pre-match: “Tuesday’s match is in an exceptional stadium against a tough team like Sporting. They’re a team with quality players who like to have the ball”.
Possible PSG starting XI: Chevalier; Mendes, Marquinhos, Pacho, Araujo; Zaire-Emery, Ruiz, Vitinha; Kvaratskhelia, Dembele, Doue
The match will kick off at 8pm BST on Tuesday, 20th January.
