PSG’s Lucas Hernandez handed 3-game ban for elbowing Xavi Simons | OneFootball

PSG centre-back Lucas Hernandez (29) is set to watch Les Parisiens‘ reminder of the Champions League league phase from afar. The France international has been handed a three-game ban by UEFA following his red card in Matchday 5 of the Champions League, according to Le Parisien. Hernandez elbowed Tottenham Hotspurs attacking midfielder Xavi Simons in the face. After a quick VAR review, the referee gave the substitute his marching orders.

Hernandez will therefore miss PSG’s Champions League games against Athletic Club Bilbao on Wedesnday as well as the January ties against Sporting CP and Newcastle United. It’s not the first time the former Atlético de Madrid and FC Bayern Munich defender loses his temper. During the Club World Cup, Hernandez was sent off for elbowing Bayern’s Raphaël Guerreiro.
