Ousmane Dembélé was withdrawn from Paris Saint-Germain’s UEFA Champions League playoff against AS Monaco with an injury at the 27-minute mark.

The Ballon d’Or winner had been a doubt for the game, due to a minor calf injury, however, he affirmed that he was able to start against Monaco on Tuesday night. However, he frequently looked back towards the bench and was then eventually subbed just 27 minutes in.

Whilst Luis Enrique provided little information on the health of his forward post-match, L’Équipe understands that Dembélé himself insists that he is feeling much better. However, both he and the staff are awaiting the results of tests on the blow.

And whilst there is hope at PSG that the injury is not serious, the former Stade Rennais forward is not expected to play against FC Metz on Saturday, L’Équipe understands, whilst it is also unlikely that he plays in the return leg against Monaco next Wednesday. PSG hold a 3-2 lead going into that game.
