Foot Africa has established that Betway Premiership outfit Golden Arrows have been slapped with a FIFA transfer ban.
This comes after the KZN-based outfit failed to settle financial obligations to one of their longest-serving players in striker Knox Mutizwa.
The 32-year-old former Zimbabwe international initially signed for Arrows on a season-long loan from the now defunct Bidvest Wits in the 2016/17 campaign.
With impressive displays in front of goals, Mutizwa secured a permanent contract with Abafana Bes'thende the subsequent season, before leaving the club towards the end of last season.
Mutizwa left Arrows over alleged disciplinary issues and has since found a new home at provincial rivals Richards Bay FC.
Now, Arrows have been hit with a three-window transfer ban until the amount owed to Mutizwa is settled, according to a document at the disposal of this publication.
While the root of the dispute between the two parties remains unclear at this stage, this means the club won't be able to register new players whether internationally or nationally.
It remains to be seen whether Arrows will compensate Mutizwa before the looming January transfer window.
