A pundit has called out other pundits and the media for making such a lazy narrative on one big Chelsea subject right now.

There has been a lot said about Chelsea over the last few years since the new ownership came in. They have often been on the end of a lot of criticism. Only recently has the tune started to change a bit and the praise start to come in some more as Chelsea seem to enjoy a bit more progression under Enzo Maresca.

EXCLUSIVE! Chelsea pick main candidate for new full back transfer pursuit!

One of the big reasons behind this progression has been the form of Cole Palmer since the day he arrived at the club from Manchester City.

He has been on the end of a lot of praise this season and has been nominated for award after award, often being handed them too.

However, not everyone has been willing to dish out the consistent praise for Palmer, and some are obviously claiming that perhaps he cannot do it in the big games. But former Chelsea defender Jason Cundy is not having that.

Cundy says that’s a lazy narrative

Palmer has been on fire

In words cited on X, Cundy said:

“[Cole Palmer going missing in big games] is such a lazy narrative, he’s not even into his second full year of regular first-team football. Have a day off, that’s ridiculous.”

I fully agree with this take too. Palmer is still a young player, people seem to forget that fact. He’s been superb and has often had to carry the team in many moments. Without him last season, Chelsea would not have finished as high as they did – he has been the chief generator of goals and assists since he joined the club.

It wont be long before he turns it on against one of the big sides as well.
