“Question marks” – Vincent Kompany responds to how Enzo Maresca is doing at Chelsea | OneFootball

Bayern Munich boss Vincent Kompany has been asked how he thinks Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca is doing so far.

Obviously the reporters are trying to fan the flames right now ahead of the two head coaches meeting tonight in the Champions League.

It’s the first game of the new competition for both Chelsea and Bayern tonight, and it is Chelsea’s first game back in the competition after far too long out of it.

Kompany has already been praising Chelsea and their transfer strategy in some of his comments released last night from the pre-match press conference yesterday.

And Maresca had his press conference last night and was talking about the expectations for the Champions League this season.

Kompany was also taking some questions on what kind of a job he thinks Maresca has done so far, and he gave what I believe was actually probably a very honest response.

In comments relayed by TNT Sports last night, Kompany said:

“I think Enzo’s done a terrific job.

“You always have to look back at what a team was like when the manager started and the question marks around the squad and the playing group.

“Of course, you invest because you expect results but at the end, it is what it is, it’s a young team. It’s a lot of talented players that had to come together and for them to be able to do it, it’s been a remarkable job.”

Tonight will be interesting

I’m looking forward to the game tonight I think it will be an interesting match up. Chelsea will feel they can win against any side right now, but Bayern are a hugely tough side to go up against.
