Racing de Trelew are pressing on with pre-season ahead of the start of the tournament, following the departure of Kevin Garay to Dolavon. La Academia plan to lean on a seasoned core while promoting prospects from their academy.
This afternoon the senior squads trained in the gym, then on the auxiliary pitch at the Trelew base under head coach Andrés Price and fitness coach Gustavo Pacheco. According to SuperDepor.com, preparations are split across multiple venues.
Price noted they are in their third week, prioritising strength work, running and ball drills at the 25 de Mayo headquarters. After a lighter football segment today on the auxiliary pitch, they plan a more formal session at Ce.De.Tre tomorrow.
He wants greater involvement for homegrown players from the 2008, 2009 and 2010 age groups, supported by experienced figures such as Rodrigo Sandoval, Nicolás Cottet and Brian Castillo.
The objective for 2026 is steady improvement. Racing reached the quarter-finals of the first tournament last year and finished second in the next, so the aim is to match that or go one better. Planning will also consider the World Cup and the Torneo Patagónico, while strengthening first team, reserves and youth.
There is heavy player movement, and many have been in touch, but the staff prefer not to block academy pathways. The squad looks in good shape, though a late addition remains possible before kick-off. Training: Monday at 25 de Mayo, Tuesday and Wednesday at Ce.De.Tre, Thursday and Friday at Cayetano Castro, 15:00 to 17:00.
