AC Milan saw worrying scenes when Rafael Leao pulled up grimacing as he miskicked the ball, immediately clutching the right adductor and limping off the field against Torino.

The Rossoneri were already trailing 2-1 at the Stadio Olimpico Grande Torino after a Nikola Vlasic penalty, Duvan Zapata angled drive and sudden Adrien Rabiot screamer into the top corner.

Leao drilled wide from the edge of the area and scuffed the ball, immediately grimacing and bending over with his hands on his groin.

After a couple of moments when he tried to jog it off, Leao realised the situation was serious and limped off the field to sit on the bench without even waiting for the substitution to be prepared by Milan staff.

He was replaced by Samuele Ricci, the former Torino midfielder playing against his old club this evening.

As for Leao, he was spotted with an ice pack strapped to the top of his right thigh, as this is believed to be an adductor issue.

It remains to be seen if he managed to stop in time before doing serious damage, and how long he will be out of action for.

It’s not a good time for Milan to lose their star striker, especially as Santiago Gimenez is still out of action, while tonight Christian Pulisic is barely fit for the bench after flu symptoms.

So far this season, he has contributed six goals and one assist between Serie A and the Coppa Italia.
