Rafinha has announced his retirement at 32, bringing to a close a career that included Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain.

The player said in a video retracing his career that he had decided to retire, sharing the single word "Merci" in eight languages.

A La Masia graduate, he featured for PSG from October 2020 until his permanent exit in September 2022, and made 39 appearances. He was loaned to Real Sociedad at the start of 2022.

After leaving France he moved to Al-Arabi SC in Qatar, departing in the summer of 2024 and remaining without a club since. He also had spells with Celta Vigo and Inter Milan.

Barcelona was his longest stint, with 90 games and 12 goals, and he won the Champions League under Luis Enrique in 2015. The Spanish-Brazilian has two caps for Brazil.
