Austria have extended Ralf Rangnick’s contract until 2028, the Austrian Football Association announced, drawing a line under links to AC Milan.
The 67-year-old had been among the candidates discussed for the Italian club’s technical director role in recent days.

The federation said Rangnick will continue the national team’s positive run and remain in his post, adding that Austria have made significant on-field progress and reasserted themselves internationally.
Rangnick took charge in 2022, following a difficult interim spell at Manchester United.
The early agreement ends speculation over a switch to Milan and keeps focus on Austria’s ongoing work.
