We have to admit, Rangers are cursed by bad luck at the moment. No sooner had Nedim Bajrami hit form that he got injured and the Albanian has been lost for a considerable period of time. We don’t know how much longer. Not only that, but then, North Macedonian striker Bojan Miovski, also in hot form with 3 goals in 2 matches, has also picked up an injury, an unknown one. We don’t know how long he’ll be out for either although Rohl hopes to have him back for Hearts. The two players that Rangers currently had that had notably just kicked in in some decent form up front, both getting injured at almost exactly the same time, is the kind of luck that Rangers are getting with injuries these days.
It all started, of course, a long time ago with that infamous injury crisis under Giovanni van Bronckhorst. We lost the entire defence and had at one point to play against Liverpool with Ben Davies and Leon King. It wasn’t great. Philippe Clement also went through a whole massive, toxic injury crisis around this time of year as well. He lost a ton of defenders and a ton of players in general. And Rohl now has to deal with the same thing.
It seems to be endemic with Rangers, but damn our luck! It just happens to be the two players who suddenly have cracked on and hit form. That really is astonishingly poor fortune and generally the cursed luck that Rangers have these days.
But that said, we still won without Bojan Miovski, even if Youssef Chermiti was once again absolutely atrocious. We cannot quite understand that whole situation, but we’ll have that one in a separate piece for you. But nevertheless, at least we did score, even if it’s our defenders now doing it.
