Gameweek 6, in many ways, proved to be your typical weekend of Premier League action.

We saw Manchester United go into full self-destruct mode, Arsenal score from set pieces to win a game of football, and Chelsea's Cole Palmer prove once again that he has developed into a genuinely world class footballer.

And after all of that fun, here's the top six players of the Premier League's weekend action, ranked.

Tottenham's most in-form player was absolutely fantastic in the win over Manchester United on Sunday. Kulusevski created a quite ridiculous nine chances for his teammates in the romping 3-0 victory, capping off a fine performance with a lovely deft finish that left Andre Onana grasping at thin air.

5. Gabriel Martinelli (Arsenal)

After getting a boatload of stick for his so-so performances over the last 12 months, Gabriel Martinelli finally looked back to his 2022/23 best in the win over Leicester City. The Brazilian put everything together in the final third, netting one for himself and setting up another in the crucial victory. With Raheem Sterling knocking on the door for regular minutes, this was just Martinelli needed.

4. Micky van de Ven (Tottenham)

Micky van de Ven's 75-yard dash which set up Tottenham's opener at Old Trafford may have been the greatest bit of play a centre-back has ever produced in the Premier League. The Dutchman is an outstanding player, and should, if he isn't already, be considered alongside Virgil van Dijk and William Saliba as one of the league's elite defenders.It's now over to Spurs to match his talent.

3. Dwight McNeil (Everton)

The owner of the Out of Context Everton X account, we salute you. Why? Because calling Dwight McNeil the 'Olivier Giroud of Marc Albrighton regens' couldn't be more spot on if it tried to be.McNeil was a player who once went an entire Premier League season for Burnley without contributing a goal or assist, in which he played all 38 games.But on Saturday, he remembered his flare for scoring outrageous goals. Long range banger? Tick. Skilled volley to bag all three points in a comeback win at Goodison? Tick.

2. Liam Delap (Ipswich Town)

Liam Delap's performance on Sunday was so good, that it had half of Ireland scrambling to see if he's still eligible to play for the Boys In Green. From what we've gathered, he's not right now but could be if new FIFA regulations go through. But enough about my sorry international team. The young striker, formerly on the books of good old Manchester City, was exceptional in the draw with Aston Villa, netting both goals for the increasingly resilient Ipswich Town. The second was a cracker, too.

1. Cole Palmer (Chelsea)

In a surprise to absolutely nobody on planet Earth, Cole Palmer is the undisputed best player of gameweek six.Palmer blasted four goals in the space of 20 first half minutes against Brighton - the first time that's ever been done - to put in quite possibly the best individual showing in the Premier League that a player wearing Chelsea blue has ever put in.Seriously, he was that good. Imagine if he's stayed on the sidelines at Manchester City?
