Raphinha has pledged to work flat out to wear Brazil’s shirt again as soon as possible after his latest injury.

The player said in a post that he remains driven by childhood dreams and love for football and country, sharing an image from his early days with the Seleção. He promised to do everything within his power to recover and be back alongside his team-mates quickly.

Medical tests found a muscle injury in the back of his right thigh. He will follow an intensive treatment protocol aimed at accelerating his recovery and return in the shortest possible time, and no timeframe has been given for his comeback.

Doubts have already circulated around Brazil about whether he can recover in time to feature at the World Cup. At Barcelona he endured four muscle problems last season, most of them hamstring related.

For now he will miss Brazil’s next game, in the early hours of Wednesday to Thursday, against Scotland for top spot in the group. Morocco face Haiti. There is talk he will also miss the round of 32.
