Marcus Rashford does not want to join another Premier League club this summer and is ready to turn down an approach from Tottenham Hotspur.
Rashford’s future is up in the air after Barcelona opted against turning his loan move from Manchester United into a permanent deal.
The Spanish champions decline on an option to sign Rashford permanently for a fee of £26m, following the signing of Anthony Gordon from Newcastle United.
Tottenham had hoped to capitalise with a move for Rashford, who Manchester United are prepared to sell for £40m. The North Londoners were ready to meet the 28-year-old’s wage demands, though Rashford is not interested in the move at this stage.
According to TEAMtalk, Rashford remains focused on returning to Barcelona despite the club’s initial decision to snub a deal.
Barcelona have not entirely ruled out re-signing the England winger, though his wages are a stumbling block. The Catalans are also prioritising other positions in the market.
Rashford’s reluctance to move to another Premier League club could open the door for other European suitors. AC Milan and Paris Saint-Germain have both held long-standing interest in Rashford, while Bayern Munich have been linked.
The German champions had hoped to sign Gordon, before being beaten to his signature by Barcelona. A left-winger remains a focus for Vincent Kompany’s side.
