Manchester United’s Rasmus Hojlund has a new team interested in his services for the upcoming season.
After a decent debut season in England, the wheels fell off for Hojlund last season as he only scored four Premier League goals.
The Dane did manage 10 in all competitions but he often cut a peripheral figure and struggled desperately to get involved in matches.
This has been a hallmark of his entire United career to date and it is no secret that Ruben Amorim is desperate to land another striker this summer to bolster the attack.
Hojlund had been attracting the attention of certain Serie A clubs and runners-up Inter Milan were said to be interested in the player.
Nonetheless, it became clear that Inter had moved on from the player and AS Roma also allegedly harboured an interest in the Denmark international.
The latest reports suggested that it was in fact Inter’s rivals, AC Milan, who had stepped forward as the main candidate to sign the forward.
Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio has reported that Milan have now stepped up their interest in him.
He posted on X that Milan have “requested information from Man Utd to assess the feasibility of the transfer” of Hojlund.
On his website he further explained that the Italians are on the hunt for a striker “after the departures of Luka Jovic and Tammy Abraham.”
United have been linked to numerous striker such as Benjamin Sesko and Ollie Watkins and it seems neither would play second fiddle to Hojlund.
What’s more, Joshua Zirkzee also seems more likely to stay at the club and with the emergence of Chido Obi, Hojlund may find game time substantially limited should he remain at Old Trafford.
