Arsenal goalkeeper David Raya says he thinks his side “played really, really well” despite losing 1-0 to PSG in their Champions League semi-final first leg.
Ousmane Dembele scored inside four minutes to secure victory for the French side in the first leg.
But despite the one-goal defeat, Raya insists his side can take confidence into the second-leg clash at the Parc Des Princes.
“We just try to approach the game in the same way,” Raya told Amazon Prime.
“I thought we played really, really well. We hurt them a lot.
“I know they created their chances as well but that’s part of football. We created a lot of chances as well so just approach it the same way and we know we can win against any team.
“They [PSG] started very quickly with the goal. They dominated the first 20 minutes, but after that, I think we dominated the game.
“They started very quickly with the goal and dominated the first 15 minutes.
“We could have won the game.”
Both Leandro Trossard and Gabriel Martinelli were denied by good saves from goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma to keep PSG in front.
But Luis Enrique’s men could also have added to their lead, with Bradley Barcola firing narrowly wide of the bottom corner and Goncalo Ramos striking the bar late on.
Raya insisted their confidence is not shaken, however, as Arsenal look to overturn the deficit and reach the final of the competition.
“We showed we can win the away game,” he added. “We’re going there to win the game.”
Meanwhile, PSG midfielder Vitinha lauded his side’s performance at the Emirates.
He said: “It was a great night. It was a very good performance today from the team.
“We controlled the game with the ball. We had to adapt to different circumstances and we did it.”
