Rayan Cherki put France ahead against Côte d'Ivoire in Nantes, striking just before the interval in their first World Cup warm-up.
As reported by L'Équipe, the forward was the standout performer of the opening period and his enterprise earned its reward.
Having taken a corner, the former Lyon player had an initial effort before surging to the opposite flank.
Ibrahima Konaté laid the ball back. Cherki then shifted the ball past Seko Fofana with a neat cut and swept a precise right-footed cross-shot into the far corner in the 45th minute.
It was France’s first goal of the spring, and probably not the last.
