Sky Germany – via transfermarkt.de – reports that RB Leipzig and Real Madrid have reached an agreement over Yan Diomandé’s transfer following several rounds of negotiations. The Spanish giants will pay an initial €125m for the 19-year-old winger. Bonuses could increase the package to €140m, with €10m considered readily achievable.

Diomandé will become Leipzig’s record sale. The Ivory Coast international could also become Real Madrid’s most expensive signing and the highest-priced African footballer in history. The agreement concludes a negotiating process involving Leipzig’s valuation and questions surrounding the player’s representation.

Diomandé’s contract runs through 2030 and contains no release clause, enabling the Bundesliga club to demand a historic fee.

The teenager returned to Leipzig training on Wednesday after missing the club’s Austrian camp with an infection. His absence fuelled speculation that he was attempting to force the transfer, though sporting director Marcel Schäfer maintained that Diomandé was genuinely ill.

Leipzig paid approximately €20m to sign Diomande from Leganés last summer. He subsequently registered 12 goals and nine assists across 33 competitive appearances as his market value rose from €1.5m to €90m.

Leganés are entitled to five percent of Leipzig’s transfer profit.
