Real Betis have come to the decision to send Vitor Roque back to parent club Barcelona in the summer.
That’s according to Diario Sport, who have on Saturday provided an insight into the latest chatter surrounding the Brazilian’s future.
Frontman Roque of course linked up with Betis on loan over the summer, following a hugely challenging first half-season with Barcelona.
The move came under the assumption that the brass at the brass at the Benito Villamarín Stadium had every intention of activating their buy option in the summer. To the point that their Barca counterparts were already making plans for the much-needed cash injection.
If the latest word stemming from the media this weekend is anything to go by, however, then as much is beginning to look increasingly unlikely.
In fact, as per Sport:
‘Everything indicates that Vitor Roque is going to play very little between now and the end of the season because Pellegrini prefers Bakambú and they have signed Cucho Hernández.’
Betis, as a result, are no longer expected to either extend Roque’s loan for next season, or sign the 19-year-old outright.
With Roque not featuring in the plans of Hansi Flick, either, Barcelona will therefore be forced to seek out a new home for their young attacker in the summer.
