Interestingly, several Spanish clubs, as well as some international teams, had shown interest in Marvel, but Real Madrid chose Cordoba as the ideal destination for the 21-year-old’s loan spell.

Marvel had offers from Saudi

Earlier reports indicated that Marvel was attracting interest from clubs in Saudi Arabia and was considering offers from teams in the Middle East. However, the 21-year-old decided to remain in Spain instead.

His decision reflects a desire to stay close to home and gain more experience in a familiar environment. Real Madrid also believe that staying in Spain will be more beneficial for Marvel’s development. The club has great confidence in his abilities and potential.

It must be remembered that Real Madrid extended the defender’s contract in 2023, keeping him at the club until 2026.

However, with limited chances to break into the first team, and having reached his development peak at Castilla, the board feelt that a loan move is the best option for him at this stage.

Real Madrid see potential, but have an asking price

As such, Real Madrid intend to include a 50% sell-on clause in Marvel’s loan agreement. This would allow the club to maintain significant control over the player’s future and benefit from any potential sale.

Furthermore, the asking price for Marvel, should any club wish to make a permanent move, is set at around €3 million.

It is said that Marvel has shown promise as a Spain Under-19 international and despite an injury that kept him sidelined for several months last season, he still managed to accumulate enough minutes.

His move to Cordoba is seen as a crucial step in gaining more playing time and experience at a competitive level, which could be vital for his growth as a player.
