In a recent report, Fichajes mentioned that Real Madrid are in the running to land Borussia Dortmund midfielder Jobe Bellingham. It has been claimed that Los Blancos would have to rival Atletico Madrid in the race to sign the English talent next year.
Bellingham has enjoyed a decent run of form at the German club this season as he has managed to put in a run of impressive displays for them at the centre of the park. The 20-year-old has secured a couple of assists in 16 appearances for Borussia Dortmund in this campaign so far across all fronts.
The English midfielder has offered solid protection for his teammates at the back and deserves credit for making seven tackles, five blocks, eight interceptions and seven clearances in the Bundesliga. He has even been accurate when distributing possession from midfield after completing 87.9% of his attempted passes in top-flight football (stats via fbref.com).
His current contract at the Signal Iduna Park will run out in the summer of 2030. Hence, it won’t be easy for Los Blancos to get a deal done for him on the cheap next year.

Bellingham is a solid tackler of the ball and can time his challenges well to earn the ball back for his team inside his half. He doesn’t mind putting his foot through the ball when required and is a tidy passer of the ball as well.
Standing at 1.91m, the English sensation can use his strong frame to win a few 50-50 aerial duels at the centre of the park. He is primarily a box-to-box midfielder but can also operate as a defensive midfielder or play in the number ten position if needed.
We can expect Bellingham to add more quality and depth to Real Madrid boss Xabi Alonso’s midfield. He has what it takes to fight for a regular starting spot at the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium in the coming years.
At 20, the future looks quite bright for Bellingham as long as he continues to improve with each season. Thus, Alonso would be wise to go for a player of his quality this January or at the end of this campaign.
