Things continue to go from bad to worse for Real Madrid. Just when it felt like they had turned things around with the win vs Athletic Club, they succumbed to a shock loss against Celta Vigo.
Xabi Alonso now finds himself staring at the exit doors should things go wrong against Manchester City later this week.
However, getting a positive result against Pep Guardiola’s men is going to be a huge challenge for Alonso and Real Madrid given the low team morale as well as the number of injuries.
Indeed, according to journalist Miguel Angel Diaz of COPE, both Dean Huijsen and Eduardo Camavinga have been ‘virtually ruled out’ of the game against Manchester City.
It means that Real Madrid will now be without as many as seven players for the game with Dani Carvajal, David Alaba, Eder Militao, Ferland Mendy, and Trent Alexander-Arnold already being unavailable.

Huijsen has been unavailable for four games now, having been ruled out since the draw against Elche when he suffered knee discomfort.
Indeed, He has already missed the matches against Olympiacos, Girona, Athletic Club, and Celta Vigo, and is unlikely to make it for the midweek encounter either.
As for Camavinga, he suffered a knock on his ankle against Athletic Club, but trained normally over the weekend and was named in the squad to face Celta Vigo.
However, he did not play a single minute on the team’s return to the Santiago Bernabeu after more than a month away. And as things stand, he is considered practically ruled out against the Cityzens.
It would mean that Real Madrid will end up being without as many as seven players for the visit of the Premier League giants, making things extremely challenging for Alonso.
