Manchester City are preparing a sweeping reset of their squad and sporting set-up after Pep Guardiola’s departure, closing a glittering decade and opening a new era. Real Madrid interest has been registered in Rúben Dias amid the shake-up.

Several senior figures are set to leave, with John Stones among the confirmed departures when his deal expires on 30 June. Despite the churn, Rúben Dias and Josko Gvardiol are not currently being offered to the market, although their futures remain open.

According to The Athletic, the club’s first priority is to determine who stays before sanctioning exits, a process that could also involve players on long contracts. The outlook will be shaped by the incoming head coach, with Enzo Maresca the leading candidate, albeit not yet announced.

Sporting director Hugo Viana is tasked with leading the rebuild.

The report added that Madrid’s interest in Rúben Dias could strengthen following Florentino Pérez’s re-election and the appointment of José Mourinho as head coach.

Bernardo Silva’s next step remains unresolved, and he has been linked with Real Madrid, Barcelona and Atlético Madrid.
