After yet another season without a major trophy, Real Madrid are expected to oversee a squad overhaul in the summer, with multiple players expected to leave.

Dani Carvajal and David Alaba are already on their way out, while others, such as Dani Ceballos, are also facing an uncertain future at the club.

One more player who may soon join the list is Fran Garcia, a La Fabrica graduate who has never quite managed to become a hit at the Bernabeu.

Since returning to the Santiago Bernabeu from Rayo Vallecano in 2023, Garcia has barely been able to make an impact and has always had to play second fiddle.

This season, Garcia has made just 23 competitive appearances, largely playing in the shadows of Alvaro Carreras or Ferland Mendy, when fit.

Garcia hasn’t disappointed much, but he has not been outstanding either. His lack of minutes at the Bernabeu also appears to have halted his progress.

According to AS, it is assumed at Real Madrid that Fran Garcia is ready to leave the Spanish capital after struggling with a lack of game time this past season.

The Spaniard was reportedly close to leaving the club in the January transfer window, but his move was blocked by president Florentino Perez.

This was despite the fact that not too long after, coach Alvaro Arbeloa made it clear that Garcia won’t play much during the second half of the season.

Nevertheless, it appears Garcia’s chapter at Real Madrid is well and truly over, with the club not ruling out signing a new left-back in the upcoming summer transfer window.
