Real Madrid’s recruitment policy in recent years has focused heavily on identifying emerging talents early and signing them before their value skyrockets.

Now, another name has appeared on the club’s radar.

According to a recent report from Fichajes, Real Madrid are showing strong interest in Assan Ouedraogo, the highly rated 19-year-old midfielder who currently plays for RB Leipzig.

The report claims that Real Madrid have already taken the first concrete steps in their pursuit of the German talent.

As per the outlet, officials from the club have made contact with the player’s representatives in order to gather information about his situation and future plans.

Within the club, the midfielder’s development is being monitored very closely. 

Real Madrid’s scouting department is particularly interested in tracking his physical progress after a period in which the young player had to deal with several injury problems.

Despite those setbacks, the midfielder remains one of the most exciting prospects in German football.

Real Madrid believe that Ouedraogo’s technical qualities, physical strength, and attacking presence in midfield perfectly match the type of player the club has been targeting in recent years.

The interest from Madrid is not something that has emerged overnight. 

Reports suggest that the club had already ‘opened lines of communication’ with the player’s camp during the last winter break, showing that the interest has been developing quietly over time.

However, signing the midfielder will not be easy.

Leipzig are reportedly valuing their young star between €55 million and €65 million for a potential summer transfer. 

But if the midfielder continues to develop at the same pace, the German club could raise their demands significantly. Some estimates suggest the price could climb as high as €100 million.
