According to a recent update from AS, Real Madrid are actively listening to offers for Ferland Mendy, as the club prepares for the next phase of its summer rebuild.
With the arrival of Alvaro Carreras and the rise of Fran Garcia, Mendy is now seen as the odd one out in the left-back rotation.
Real Madrid are entering what is being called their “operation departures” phase, a crucial part of their squad planning.
The club believes it is time to trim the squad, especially in areas where there is too much depth. At left-back, that time has come.
The arrival of Alvaro Carreras has created a three-man battle for the left-back role. But internally, the decision seems clear that Garcia is not for sale.
The Spaniard impressed at the Club World Cup and has earned praise for being a better fit under Xabi Alonso’s tactical system. That leaves Mendy on the outside looking in.

Despite being contracted until 2027, a deal that Real Madrid have never officially announced, Mendy’s future at the club is in doubt.
Furthermore, his age (30) and a history of injuries (four separate setbacks last season) have significantly affected his market value.
While Madrid are open to offers, the reality is that strong interest in Mendy has been scarce. His fitness record and high wages make it difficult to attract serious buyers.
Even though the club wants to move him on, they are aware it will take time and likely a compromise to finalise a deal.
Still, the message is that Mendy is the left-back Real Madrid are looking to offload. If the right offer comes along, the club won’t hesitate to part ways with him as they continue to reshape the squad ahead of the new season.
