Real Madrid are said to be deeply unhappy with the behaviour of Atletico Madrid manager Diego Simeone following the controversial scenes that unfolded during the Spanish Super Cup derby.

According to a report from AS, the feeling inside the club is one of total outrage, with directors, coaching staff and players united in the belief that the Argentine coach crossed a serious line on the touchline.

The outlet mentions there is a strong sense within the team that Simeone’s actions went far beyond normal sportsmanship.

Those within Real Madrid feel that ethical boundaries in sport were ignored, and the dissatisfaction with the Atletico coach is described as absolute.

The issue is not limited to a single incident, but rather a sequence of actions that began early in the match and escalated as the game progressed.

Sequence with Vinicius

From the opening stages, Simeone was seen repeatedly engaging with Vinicius Jr. Words were exchanged constantly, but Real Madrid believe the situation started with the Atletico coach deliberately whispering a message to the Brazilian forward.

The belief is that Simeone was actively trying to destabilise the Real Madrid forward and take him out of the game mentally.

As reported before, Simeone first brought Florentino Perez into the exchange and later directed gestures toward the crowd.

What has angered Real Madrid the most is what happened at the end of the match, as Simeone’s gestures were interpreted as a personal attack aimed at humiliating Vinicius rather than anything related to football.

Real Madrid are not happy

Real Madrid officials feel this episode no longer falls under what is often dismissed as “part of the game.”

In their view, the gestures and behaviour were designed to hurt the individual, not challenge the footballer on sporting grounds.

While Vinicius is not considered a flawless role model within the club, there is a strong conviction that nothing that happens around him is accidental.

Real Madrid insist that a pattern exists and maintain that the winger is facing an ongoing witch hunt, particularly from certain sections of the media.
