Real Madrid will battle it out against Juventus later tonight in Miami for a spot in the quarter-finals of the FIFA Club World Cup.

Los Blancos finished the group stages as leaders of Group H, with two wins and a draw. The likes of Dean Huijsen, Arda Guler, and Gonzalo Garcia have stood out with their performances at the competition thus far.

However, it has been a difficult run for a certain Rodrygo Goes, with minutes proving hard to come by after the first game.

Rodrygo’s camp not happy

Now, according to The Athletic, those close to Rodrygo are not happy with his lack of involvement in the group stage of the FIFA Club World Cup.

The 24-year-old forward started in the opening match against Al-Hilal but has struggled for prominence ever since.

Indeed, Rodrygo was left as an unused substitute by Xabi Alonso against Pachuca while he only came on for the final 25 minutes or so, coming on for Vinicius Jr. in the second half.

Arda Guler has seemingly moved ahead of Rodrygo in the pecking order now while once Franco Mastantuono arrives, he will also push for a starting berth.

As such, there are concerns about the Brazilian attacker’s situation and his camp was unhappy with his reduced involvement at the tournament in the USA.

Whether the situation changes in the knockout rounds changes or if he continues to be overlooked for a starting role will be interesting to see, for it will have a major repercussion on his future.
