Real Madrid forward Rodrygo Goes finds himself at a crossroads in his career, having lost prominence within the team.

During the final stage of Carlo Ancelotti’s tenure, the 24-year-old saw very limited playing time, and so far, he has not earned the trust of new manager Xabi Alonso either.

As such, an exit from the Santiago Bernabeu has been heavily speculated, with Premier League heavyweights Arsenal showing the most concrete interest thus far.

Rodrygo’s Arsenal move now ‘complicated’

However, according to Anton Meana on Cadena SER (h/t AS), sources close to Arsenal suggest that a deal to sign Rodrygo from Real Madrid this summer is becoming increasingly complicated.

Mikel Arteta’s side admire the Brazilian international, but are not in a position to wait for him to rediscover his best form or become available on the market.

The imminent arrivals of Noni Madueke and Viktor Gyokeres to the Emirates Stadium complicates matters further.

Real Madrid, for their part, still rate the Brazilian as one of the best in his position and are not actively looking to sell him, unless the player himself asks to leave.

In case of a potential departure, Los Blancos value him at nearly €100 million, a figure out of reach for most teams. That high valuation, combined with the player’s recent drop in form, has stalled negotiations.

As such, a move to Arsenal now appears complicated for Rodrygo. However, there is interest in the attacker from reigning English champions Liverpool, who could move for him especially if Luis Diaz ends up leaving this summer.
