Real Madrid hand Carlos Espi immediate opportunity after transfer | OneFootball

Real Madrid continue to impress everyone with their work in the transfer market. After having completed the signings of four players early in the summer, the Merengues once again announced a new arrival yesterday, namely, the Levante forward Carlos Espi, whom they landed in a lightning operation by paying his €25 million release clause.

As if only his signing were not enough, the speed of other aspects of Espi’s arrival at the Madrid club have also been remarkably swift. He joined his new teammates in training in Friday’s session, only a few hours after his signing was announced by the club, and he was helped in this regard by the fact that he had been training with Levante since 7 July, and thus had enough fitness to start working right away.

Evidence of this fitness was once again seen as Real Madrid published their squad for their first friendly of this preseason, against Fiorentina. As Diario AS has reported, Espi is part of this squad, and therefore will travel with his new teammates to Klagenfurt for tomorrow’s game.

This can be a very good opportunity for him to get to know these new teammates better, and also to understand the team’s play style on the pitch, without there being anything significant at stake.

While it remains to be seen what role Jose Mourinho will give him in this match, another player on whom a lot of eyes will be fixed will be the fullback Denzel Dumfries, who can play in the white shirt for the first time tomorrow, after having joined his new club at the start of this week.

However, there will also be some notable absences for Real Madrid. Gonzalo Garcia has finalized his move to Fulham, and Franco Mastantuono is also looking for a new club to join on loan, and thus, both these players are not named in this list. Furthermore, Dean Huijsen is suffering from discomfort, and Antonio Rudiger does not have enough physical fitness to play in this match.
