Ibrahima Konaté is approaching the final year of his Liverpool contract, and with no extension agreed upon, speculation about his future continues to build amid growing links to PSG.
Both PSG and Real Madrid are reportedly monitoring the situation closely and could make a move if contract talks remain at a standstill heading into the January transfer window.
Foot Mercato previously reported that Konaté had attracted interest from several top European sides, including PSG, Real Madrid, and Barcelona. Despite the summer rumors, Liverpool ultimately chose to keep hold of the French defender.

Defensa Central reports that Real Madrid president Florentino Perez has already put one of the club’s most influential figures in motion. The outlet claims Kylian Mbappe plans to speak with Konaté during the international break.
Despite both players’ injuries, they remain part of France’s squad for the upcoming 2026 World Cup qualifiers against Azerbaijan on Friday and Iceland next Monday. Mbappe is reportedly set to lead Madrid’s push to persuade Konaté to agree to a pre-contract deal and will hold talks with his compatriot this week.
The report also mentioned that Real Madrid have a history of using their own players to help recruit potential signings. It’s a familiar tactic the club believes could work again as they aim to secure Konaté.
