Recent reports from Spain claimed that Jose Mourinho had specifically requested the signing of Calafiori if he were to return as head coach of Real Madrid. The Special One is poised to step back into the Bernabeu dugout following the re-election of Florentino Perez as the club’s President.

Sky claims that representatives from Madrid have been in contact with their Arsenal counterparts to request information surrounding Calafiori’s availability. Madrid have reportedly expressed their interest in signing him this summer, but as things stand, things have not gone beyond an initial, exploratory phone call just yet.

Madrid will also strengthen their playing ranks with the signing of right wing-back Denzel Dumfries from Inter this summer. The Dutchman is set to leave the Nerazzurri for a fee of around €20m because of a release clause in his contract that became active earlier this month.
