According to a recent update from Real Madrid Confidencial, Los Blancos could be in line for a massive financial boost of around €40 million this summer and they won’t even need to sell any of their current players.
Instead, Real Madrid are poised to profit from smartly negotiated sell-on clauses in the contracts of two former academy talents, namely, Takefusa Kubo and Miguel Gutierrez.
With the transfer window in full swing, Real Madrid have already made headlines with their high-profile arrivals.
But now club president Florentino Perez has his eyes set on balancing the books by cashing in on past exits. The club’s foresight in retaining 50% of the rights to Kubo and Gutierrez is about to pay off in a big way.
Kubo, currently at Real Sociedad, has enjoyed a standout season and attracted serious interest from the Premier League.
With seven goals and four assists in the recently concluded campaign, the Japanese international has become one of La Liga’s most consistent attacking threats outside of the traditional big three.

While he has not finalised his destination yet, his suitors are expected to pay around €40 million for his services, which would leave Real Madrid entitled to €20 million.
It is now just a matter of choosing the right sporting project before sealing the move that could benefit both Sociedad and Real Madrid financially.
On the other hand, Gutierrez, the talented full-back now at Girona, is being courted by Serie A giants Juventus.
The Italian side is reportedly ready to pay around €40 million to acquire the 23-year-old, who was among La Liga’s top-performing defenders last season.
Real Madrid also maintained 50% of his economic rights and a buyback option, which they are unlikely to activate now, given the impending arrival of Alvaro Carreras.
Should Juventus complete the signing, Madrid would pocket another €20 million, matching the projected fee from Kubo’s transfer.
