La Liga heavyweights Real Madrid have this week been credited with an interest in a member of the midfield ranks at Paris Saint-Germain.

The player in the sights of Los Blancos with a view to next season? Fabián Ruiz.

Real Madrid are of course widely expected to bring in reinforcements in the middle of the park at some point this summer.

With Dani Ceballos having departed, and question marks over the future of Eduardo Camavinga, Florentino Pérez and co. are on the lookout for a new engine room profile for the incoming José Mourinho.

To this point, Chelsea standout Enzo Fernández has been the player most hotly tipped to link up with Real Madrid over the coming months.

Should the Argentine prove too expensive, though, Los Merengues appear to have a backup option in mind, too…

As per a report from Mundo Deportivo, citing sources in France, ahead of the expiration of his contract terms at the Parc des Princes in 12 months’ time:

‘Real Madrid are closely monitoring the situation regarding Fabián Ruiz’s PSG future.’

Ruiz could allegedly be available for a fee in the region of €40-50 million.
