Bayern Munich’s young teenage talent Lennart Karl made it publicly clear that he dreams of playing for Real Madrid at some point in his career, and his decision to do so did not go down well.

After his recent public admission, there were open calls for the Bavarians to exclude the player from their plans and push him to leave with many questioning his commitment to the club.

For Real Madrid, however, the development came as a welcome one as it can possibly aid them in any possible future signing.

Is the time now?

As relayed by Defensa Central, Karl remains one of the top young profiles Real Madrid are monitoring ahead of the upcoming summer transfer window.

After all, he is one of Europe’s finest talents in his position and is being scouted by several top clubs.

He is seen as the next ‘Arjen Robben’, and his current valuation stands at close to €90 million. He is closely being watched by Real Madrid and the price tag is not completely out of reach, but there are other concerns that serve as hurdles to his immediate arrival.

Los Blancos enter the summer with two clear priorities in mind – the central defence and the central midfield. While Karl is a midfielder by trade, he does not play in the same position that they are looking to strengthen.

An attacking midfielder by trade, the Bayern Munich star shares his profile with the likes of Jude Bellingham, Arda Guler and possibly even Brahim Diaz and Real Madrid do not see that department to be in an urgent need for reinforcement.

The 17-year-old’s current contract runs until 2028 and Bayern Munich will undoubtedly try and renew his deal amid interest from across Europe.

If Real Madrid decide to enter the race, they can sign him quite easily given the player’s desire. The question, however, is whether he fits into their financial and sporting plans.
