Real Madrid ‘make approach’ for Denzel Dumfries as Inter pursue Marco Palestra | OneFootball

Fabrizio Romano reports that Real Madrid are among the clubs interested in Inter wing-back Denzel Dumfries, a move that could influence Inter’s bid to sign Marco Palestra from Atalanta.

Gianluca Di Marzio claims the 15-time Champions League winners have made an initial approach. Dumfries is reported to have a €25m release clause that applies only to clubs outside Italy and expires in mid-July.

Selling Dumfries this summer could help Inter raise funds for Italy talent Palestra, who is valued in the region of €50m.

Reports over the weekend suggested Inter are ready to make Palestra their priority target, but more recent updates indicate they will face stiff Premier League competition from Manchester City, Newcastle United and potentially Champions League finalists Arsenal.

Di Marzio reports that an opening proposal of €40m plus €5m in bonuses would not satisfy Atalanta, who are said to be holding out for at least €50m.
