Developed at Blackburn Rovers, Wharton joined Palace in 2024 for €21 million. Since then, his rise has been nothing short of meteoric, and his value continues to soar. His strong performances in England have even earned him a call-up to the national team, where he has already made his debut appearance.

In Madrid, Wharton is seen as a serious candidate to bolster the midfield, especially if Dani Ceballos leaves the club.
