Kylian Mbappé has had a challenging start to his time at Real Madrid after joining the club on a free transfer from Paris Saint-Germain this summer. As a result, one club chief is providing the forward with a boost of confidence.
The 25-year-old had a challenging El Clásico debut, with Real Madrid falling 4-0 to Barcelona at the Santiago Bernabéu on October 26. A few days later, their struggles continued with a 3-1 loss to AC Milan in the UEFA Champions League.
Despite the setbacks, Real Madrid responded strongly with a dominant 4-0 win over CA Osasuna before the FIFA international break. The pause might have been what the Frenchman needed as Mbappé scored a goal in Sunday’s 3-0 win over CD Leganés.

With Mbappé not being the player that many grew accustomed to seeing at PSG, Real Madrid president Florentino Perez spoke to the media and defended the player.
“Kylian Mbappé’s arrival at Real Madrid was one of the footballing events that will forever be etched in the memories of football fans,” Perez said (h/t But Football Club). “On July 16, the Bernabéu once again became the epicenter of world football with a historic presentation.
“Mbappé came to Madrid making an effort no one could have imagined. He has already helped us win our first title of the season in Warsaw, scoring and securing the UEFA Super Cup (against Atalanta), his first title in the jersey he has dreamed of wearing since he was a child.”
