Real Madrid’s transfer plans for the summer of 2025 appear to be taking shape, with the club reportedly prioritising reinforcements in two key positions: right-back and creative midfield.
According to a report from AS, while other positions may require some attention, the club’s focus is firmly on these areas, as the sporting management considers them critical for the team’s continued dominance.
The centre-back role, which could have been a concern, is not being actively pursued at the moment.
This is largely due to David Alaba’s impending return from injury, as well as the availability of young talent Raul Asencio, who is expected to step up when needed.
The right-back position has been a point of concern for some time now. Currently, the options include Lucas Vazquez, who is playing out of position, and Dani Carvajal, who is returning from a serious knee injury and may struggle to reach his peak form.

Real Madrid have identified Trent Alexander-Arnold as their primary target for this role. The 26-year-old Englishman, who shares a close bond with Jude Bellingham, is reportedly keen to join the Spanish giants.
He has rejected several contract renewal offers from Liverpool, making it likely that he will wear the white shirt of Real Madrid next summer. His arrival would provide much-needed stability and quality to the right flank.
In midfield, the situation is slightly more complicated. Real Madrid are in search of a player who can dictate the pace of the game and organise the team’s play—a role that Toni Kroos has fulfilled brilliantly over the years.
Finding such a player is no easy task. Martin Zubimendi has emerged as a strong candidate, with his composure and technical ability making him a natural fit.
Vitinha from Paris Saint-Germain has also been mentioned as an option, and there is Florian Wirtz too. However, no decision has been made yet, and the club continues to evaluate its options carefully.
While Real Madrid compete on all fronts this season, the groundwork for the next campaign is already being laid.
The summer of 2025 promises to be a crucial period for the club’s long-term project, with significant moves expected to strengthen these two key positions.
