Real Madrid secured their first win of the Xabi Alonso era as they dismantled Pachuca 3-1 in their second group game at the FIFA Club World Cup.
Things started on a rocky note when RaĂșl Asencio was sent off in the seventh minute for hauling down SalomĂłnâŻRondĂłn, leaving Los Blancos to battle with 10 men for over 80 minutes.
Despite the numerical disadvantage, they weathered early pressure - especially thanks to Thibaut Courtois - and struck first through Jude Bellingham just before halftime, with Arda GĂŒler then doubling their lead.
Federico Valverde sealed the result early in the second half after a swift counter, and although Pachuca managed a late consolation goal, Madrid held firm to secure a crucial victory.
Thibaut Courtois - 8/10: Made several big saves to keep Madrid in the game early doors and stayed composed throughout.
Trent Alexander-Arnold - 7/10: Provided an outlet down the right and showed calmness in possession under pressure. An outstanding pass in the build up to the second goal.
RaĂșl Asencio - 4/10: Sent off in the seventh minute for a reckless last-man challenge that couldâve cost his team. Not the best start to the tournament.
Dean Huijsen - 7/10: Stepped up after Asencioâs red card. Solid positioning and aerial presence throughout.
Francisco Garcia - 6.5/10: Disciplined performance defensively. Offered little going forward but stayed compact.
AurĂ©lien TchouamĂ©ni - 7/10: Worked hard in front of the defence, but unlucky with the deflection that led to Pachucaâs goal.
Federico Valverde - 8/10: Relentless work rate and capped it off with a goal to kill the game.
Jude Bellingham - 8.5/10: Brilliant performance having scored the opener, set the tempo, and led by example. Player of the Match.
Arda GĂŒler - 7.5/10: Showed composure with his goal and intelligent movement between the lines.
Gonzalo Garcia - 7/10: Played a vital role in the build-up to two goals with sharp, intelligent passing.
VinĂcius Jr. - 6.5/10: Dangerous on the break, helped stretch Pachucaâs defence even with limited space. The attempted rainbow flick and showboating let him down.
Brahim DĂaz - 6/10: Energetic cameo and provided the assist for Valverdeâs goal.
Luka ModriÄ - 6/10: Brought control and calmness to the midfield in the final half-hour.
Daniel Ceballos - N/A: Late introduction, had little time to impact proceedings.
Antonio RĂŒdiger - N/A:Â Late introduction, put himself about but had little time to make an impact.
VĂctor Muñoz - N/A: Minimal involvement late on with the game already sealed.
